The Most Advanced Robotic Surgery Technology Arrives at Marian!
|
|
Marian Regional Medical Center officially introduced the recent acquisition of the industry’s most advanced robotic surgical technology—the innovative da Vinci Xi Surgical System. As the most advanced robotic surgery option, this new technology offers greater precision, vision and dexterity for our surgeons, and is used in minimally-invasive gynecology, urology, and colorectal surgeries.
The da Vinci technology was on hand at Marian in September and allowed local students an opportunity to try their (robotic) hands at a recent demonstration. Student attendees were even able to help select a new name for our robot: WALL-E.
As Marian Regional Medical Center President and CEO Sue Andersen said, “Marian continues to uphold our pledge to be at the forefront of the services and technological advancements, and the acquisition of the innovative da Vinci Xi Surgical System allows us to offer the most precise and enhanced surgical options to our patients.”

Did you know that September was Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month?
In celebration of Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, babies born at Marian received a teal beanie to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. These hats were all the more meaningful, given that a gynecological oncologist and surgeon’s mother organized the donation of these special hats. Val Lutman, mother of Christopher Lutman, MD, FACOG, brought together family members and friends to craft the teal baby beanies for our community’s smallest patients.
