Jim and Maureen Cusack

Honoring a Labor of Love

In June, Marian Regional Medical Center unveiled the new Labor and Delivery Triage entrance named in honor of Dr. and Mrs. James D. Cusack. 

Dr. Jim Cusack is known for his incredible dedication as a longtime OB/GYN physician in Santa Maria for more than 40 years, delivering thousands of infants throughout his career. Furthermore, Jim's many professional accomplishments were made possible by the unconditional support of his loving wife, Maureen. 

Being married for more than 65 years is a rare and extraordinary milestone. Dr. Cusack and Maureen's marriage represents the epitome of love and devotion to family. The couple's commitment to each other and their growing family is their greatest joy as their lasting legacy continues through their five children, 13 grandchildren, and 26 (and counting) great-grandchildren.

The Tank family's legacy of generosity

Tank FamilyThe Tank family recently visted Marian Regional Medical Center to celebrate and unveil the family's three inpatient room plaques, all made possible by their generous contribution to the Marian Foundation. All three rooms are dedicated in memory of beloved Tank family members including Mina Tank, Dr. Himat Tank's parents, and Mina Tank's parents.


Family Medicine and OB/GYN Residency Program Graduation

OB/GYN Graduation 2024Marian Regional Medical Center recently celebrated the achievements of nine graduates from the Family Medicine Residency Program and the Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program. Congratulations to these gratudates for successfully completing their rigorous training. They are poised to make a significant impact in healthcare, and their dedication and hard work promise to shape a brighter future for healthcare


Dr. Yin Named Woman of the Year

Dr. Yin CelebrationMarian Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that a Marian Foundation Board Member and esteemed physician, Dr. Elaine Yin, OB/GYN, was recently named as a 2024 Woman of the Year by Congressman Salud Carbajal! This prestiguious award honors exceptional women across the 24th Congressional District who have made a positive impact on their communities. "The culmination of my career in obstetrics and gynecology has led me to serve our community and future generations by helping develop and grow the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Marian Regional Medical Center with the vital support of the administration and the community at large," Dr. Yin says, "It is a privilege to be working in Santa Maria with this mission, and I'm humbled by this special recognition."


Mission Hope received random acts of kindness

Shirts donated to the Marian FoundationThe Marian Foundation recently received $1,200 worth of chemotherapy port shirts in support of the infusion patients at Mission Hope Cancer Center. Amie Linscott partnered with Random Acts, an organization that provides the opportunity for anyone to perform a random act of kindness, by funding small-scale, community-level projects. 


Introducing Our New Breast Surgeon at Mission Hope Cancer Center

Dr. Julie BaronePlease join us in welcoming Dr. Julie Barone to Dignity Health's Mission Hope Cancer Center Oncology team as we continue our mission to provide exceptional care to those in need. Dr. Barone is a distinguished breast surgical oncologist and the Medical Director of our Comprehensive Breast Care Program. Her extensive experience and commitment to patient-centered care make her an invaluable asset to our organization. Dr. Julie Barone says that, "Through a team approach and commitment to excellence, I strive to provide the highest quality of care to my patients, ensuring their well-being and peace of mind."

The Legion of Marian Celebration Event

Legion of Marian Celebration Event 2024Marian Regional Medical Center's esteemed giving society recently held is celebration event on May 19 at Presqu’ile Winery in Orcutt to announce this year's winning beneficiary program. It is with great pleasure that we congratulate the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for securing the esteemed title of our 2024 winning beneficiary, having received the highest count of membership votes! Rocky Greer, MD, Department Chair of Pediatric Medicine, was honored to accept the generous $57,000 award.
